8 Key Components to achieve happiness in the Family
Communication
Communication is fundamental in a family and in a relationship. If you can't communicate, then how can you have a happy family or relationship?
If you are able to let someone be heard, it creates trust and shows your level of respect for them.
You can't expect others to read your mind; you have to be able to free your mind and not let things simmer and boil over until the explode
Discipline
Here is five tips that will help you start achieving happiness with your family:
-
Be aware of what your child can and cannot do
-
Be consistent with rules and expectations
-
Pay attention to each other's feelings
-
each your kids how to handle a situation without anger
-
Let them make mistakes (and learn from them)
Quality Time
Happiness is not a destination, it’s a journey. It’s the way you feel and think about life that makes you happy or not. Therefore, achieving happiness can be achieved by spending quality time with your family. Spending time is great but quality time is better.
You can spend quality time with your family by planning family outings so that memories are not only made in the house but outdoors as well. You can also use family time as a way to get to learn more about your significant other, children and even your pet.
Joint Decisions
When it comes to decision-making in the household, it's important to remember: don't try to do everything and decide everything without taking into account the opinions of other people in the home. Decision-making in a relationship should be shared since we all have different tastes and have brilliant ideas of our own.
So if you're trying to pick out a movie, make sure that you let your partner decide what they want to watch first—then do your best to pick something equally as good! It's not easy, but if we all take it one step at a time, we can get there eventually.
Look After Yourself
Happiness is a state of mind, and you can achieve it.
The first step to achieving happiness is to care about yourself. You have to realize that no one else will do it for you and that no one else has the right to do it for you. It's your life, your journey, and no one else gets to tell you what's right or wrong for you. Only YOU can decide that
Set Boundaries
Setting boundaries is an important part of achieving happiness because we often get wrapped up in other people's problems and let them control us. Setting boundaries means saying no when we need to, even if it makes someone else upset.
We also need to set boundaries for those around us so they don't take advantage of us or our generosity by taking more than they need from us.
Work & Home Life Balance
The first thing is to make sure that your work isn't taking over your life. Don't bring your work home with you—even if you work from home! If you're going to be spending time with friends or family, make sure they know this is a time when they can expect you not to be working.
It's also important to try and clock out mentally as well as physically when work is done—don't let it follow you around all day, even if it's just in the back of your mind.
Flexibility
Don't set yourself up for failure by making plans that are too rigid or impossible to change on the fly. If something comes up that causes you to need to change your plans (and let's be real: something will), then be willing to do so without getting upset or angry.
Second, be willing to make sudden adjustments. If something happens unexpectedly (like a friend canceling on you at the last minute), don't let it ruin your day—just roll with it!
